Shaw Heart Receives High Praise From Renowned Heart Expert

One of the world’s foremost experts in interventional cardiology has praised the Shaw Heart and Vascular Center’s 18-month-old program as among the best he has ever seen.
Tom Wharton, M.D., a cardiologist from Exeter Hospital in New Hampshire visited Shaw Heart in March and was effusive in his review of the heart program and its medical director, Howard Feldman, M.D.
“This is an outstanding program, run by one of the finest cardiologists I have ever met,” Dr. Wharton praised. “Dr. Feldman is truly a superstar in every sense of the word.”
During his visit, Dr. Wharton reviewed 34 interventional cardiology (also known as angioplasty) cases, the results of which left him, he said, with one of the most positive impressions he had ever had of a program similar to Shaw Heart Center’s.
“I can say that this program is the best that I have ever had the pleasure to review, with possibly one exception. It deserves to be showcased at national meetings.”
The dramatic growth of the Shaw Heart and Vascular Center’s Interventional Center and the testimonials of grateful patients speak volumes about the quality of care and level of staff expertise.
However, it’s also nice to get a second opinion from an objective outsider like Dr. Wharton.
