The Shaw Heart and Vascular Center is a state-of-the-art regional resource for heart patients and their families throughout Douglas County and southern Oregon.
Offered by, and located within, Mercy Medical Center, the Shaw Heart and Vascular Center provides comprehensive preventive, diagnostic, therapeutic and rehabilitative services for a wide range of heart-related conditions.
The center’s most recent accomplishment was the opening in 2007 of its advanced Interventional Cardiology Program, offering for the first time local access to the latest angioplasty technology, the most effective treatment for sudden heart attack.
Directed by renowned cardiologist Howard Feldman, MD, FACC, FSCA&I, the program provided often life-saving care to more than 300 patients in 2007, far exceeded first-year expectations.
Mercy continues to recruit new cardiologists to the Shaw Heart and Vascular Center, and is pursing plans to expand the facility and its offerings to ensure residents of the region continue to benefit from convenient access to advanced heart care services.
